Summary
(00:00-24:16) – Query & Company opens on a Hump Day Wednesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison sharing what Shane Steichen said minutes prior to the show starting about the Colts injuries. Also, they discuss Butler’s loss last night to North Dakota State and try to figure out what type of team the Bulldogs are.
(24:16-39:13) – Butler basketball radio analyst, Nick Gardner, joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook on the show to explain what went wrong in last night’s loss to North Dakota State, highlights what Thad Matta’s team needs to do in order to be successful like they were in Arizona Tip Off, assesses whether Butler has depth or just a bunch of guys that they can throw out there based off matchups, and tries to predict how the Bulldogs will fare in Big East play during the regular season.
(39:13-45:24) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake asking Jimmy to divulge what has him irritated with what Pacers fans keep asking him.
(45:24-1:10:46) – Jake and Jimmy continue their conversation from the previous segment about James Johnson. They debate if Johnson is the guy that is in middle management for the Pacers that serves as the bridge between the players and the coaching staff. Additionally, it sparks a conversation about college coaching staffs vs professional coaching staffs.
(1:10:46-1:25:57) – ESPN’s NBA front office insider, Bobby Marks, joins Query & Company to examine the Pacers current roster construction from the salary cap standpoint, believes Indiana is in an odd spot right now with Myles Turner, reminds Pacers fans that teams have looked at the way Indiana has built its roster underneath the current CBA, provides his opinion on Jarace Walker, and provides some ideas on how the Pacers can bolster the backup center position after waiving Moses Brown earlier in the week.
(1:25:57-1:32:45) – Hour two of the program concludes with Eddie playing a song that drives Jake crazy. Once Jake gets over that, the guys discuss which Colts players would be most recognized out in public.
(1:32:45-1:55:40) – Joel Erickson from the IndyStar joins the program from the Colts complex to provide an update on where the team stands health wise coming out of the bye week. Additionally, he reveals that he is a bourbon snob, identifies the bye week as most beneficial to the Colts defense with their struggles going into the off week, and believes that Anthony Richardson’s legs could really open things up for the Colts offense this week like it did earlier in the season for the Ravens when they faced the Broncos.
(1:55:40-2:09:15) – Earlier in the day it was announced that Ohio state Rep. Josh Williams has introduced a bill that make flag planting at Ohio Stadium during football games a felony. Jake and Jimmy share their thoughts on the alleged proposal.
(2:09:15-2:21:26) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and JMV joining the guys in studio to discuss games they used to play growing up as kids.
