So yesterday, one of the big themes of the show, and I think specifically because I was doing it with CMAQ, who has been on this thing about not wanting the Giants to win to get the number one pick because of, you know, how much it will garner them in a trade.

0:14.6

And I understand all of that.

A lot of conversation about what do you do with the draft to make sure teams are still playing? Like the Raiders, clearly, they're not very talented, but the fact that they sat Max Crosby and Crosby's posting videos playing basketball, almost mocking them for sitting him and putting him on I-R. He had a meniscus there. He wanted to play. Sure. The report was he was pissed off that he wasn't playing. So what do you do?

So I've come up with an idea. I've long been on the fact that the NFL to avoid things like this, you need some sort of a lottery system. Now, the one the NBA has is okay. Here's my idea. We're going to pass the former NFL player. We're going to a lottery here. Yeah. Okay. But not just a lottery where if you're the worst team, you get the most amount of ping pong balls. Because there's value in losing the most games even for that, the more, better chance of getting the most. What have you broke it up? You've got 18 teams that don't make the playoffs every year, 14 that do. What if you broke it up in blocks of three? The bottom three teams get the same amount of ping pong balls,

1:16.7

then four through six get the second most. So you still get a chance, but you still want to win

1:22.1

games because you're still, you know, you're still going to be in a lottery, but at least

1:27.1

there's no one trying to be the worst

1:29.7

possible team in the league. And I don't know how much I would vary these ping pong balls by,

1:35.4

but at least it's a way to make teams, and then you could even do other things to, you know,

1:42.1

incentivize them to continue to win, too.

1:44.7

But at least it's not like you're all fighting for that one spot.

1:48.7

Yeah, but it's different because I think even, for instance,

1:51.2

one of the things I like about the just potentially,

1:54.0

their potential to get the two spot is that,

1:56.9

one,

1:57.4

they can potentially get a quarterback or not

1:59.4

and not give away their first round picks they acquired through the trade of Quentin and Sauce, right?

2:05.0

So I like that.

2:06.4

I don't know.

2:07.6

I'm trying to follow because at the end of the day, you don't tank for the better position, but at the end of the day, also, you have, I think it's a quick way to build your roster the way we have it right now

2:17.7

yes but you're ending up with non-competitive games where teams are not even trying

2:25.1

so I don't know like you even said are the are the jets maybe tanking by not saying they're
