Here's the letter from Kathy. I absolutely loved my job. I went back to college after my kids went to college and became a special education teacher.

So here's the issue. Whenever I tell someone that I teach special ed, they say things like,

oh, how can you teach those kids? Or gosh, how do you do it? Or why did you want to do that?

I'm sick of defending my students in the choice I made to teach. My students are kids first and need someone in their corner.

They come from hard lives and most are a greater to behind their peers.

I love my students and want to be their cheerleader as well as a safe adult.
