Well, hello there. My name is Morgan Harper-Nichols. I'm an artist and a writer, and this is a space where I share words that I hope can make a little room for you to slow down and take a few deep breaths as you prepare for whatever lies ahead. Thanks for being here today. And now on to today's episode. One of the greatest joys of the human

experience is the opportunity to find and pursue our purpose in life. When we think about the work

0:36.3

that we do and what we hope to leave behind,

0:39.4

we may wonder what people will say about us after we're gone. It can feel overwhelming to

0:45.4

define our individual legacies and to understand what impact we've left on the world and people

aligns directly with what we believe our purpose to be. And for those of us still searching for what

1:45.6

makes our hearts sing, we may wonder how we can leave a legacy if we are unsure of what our

specific purpose in life might be. When we are in this uncertain place, it can be easy to get

2:00.1

caught up in the pressure of feeling like

2:02.6

we have to have it all figured out by a certain age or stage or season of our lives. In these

2:09.8

moments, it is important to remember that good things take time. In these moments, it is important

2:16.8

to remember that time is also relative. What may feel

2:21.1

like a lifetime for one can feel like the blink of an eye to another. On today's episode, I'd love for

2:28.2

you to join me in looking at butterflies for reminders on what it means to fulfill our purpose in life. No matter the species,

2:37.1

butterflies typically only live a few weeks and at most a few months. And while we often find

2:43.4

ourselves inspired by the beauty of a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a butterfly, it can be a saddening reality to remember that this
