The last time we addressed some of the common challenges for teen girls, today we're going to

turn our attention

to boys i'm john fuller along with dr danny werta who heads up our parenting department and

danny boys uh probably are a little quieter about what's going on in here and up here um inside

so how do we how do we understand what's going on in my boy and what's normal and what might

need some extra attention? Well, a lot of times boys are acting out. It's not necessarily quiet.

It comes out in behaviors. That's a really good observation. It's expressed in different ways,

not necessarily verbally. It could be fights.

It could be all kinds of different things that come out.

Driving fast down the road, it could be seen as substance use.

There's so many markers that have continued to rise the last five to ten years.

It is concerning.

For boys, the rise has continued in depression, in anxiety.

I mean, anxiety has gone much higher than before. And then loneliness is higher.

Death by suicide, there's been a trend of that over the decades. And over the last couple of years,

it's plateaued and gone a little down for boys.
