I was just saying before I started recording that I've never really tested the water when it comes to sort of the fan opinion, I guess, or the expert opinion for over the pond when it comes to the feelings towards FSG and in particular John Henry. But I felt like it was time to do so because it's been a few years now we've had this

sort of quite unique relationship in terms of our respective owners and you do cover the Boston

sports scene in particular the Boston Red Sox extensively so I thought you were the perfect man for the

job so let's dive into it then there's a few things on a such a long way. But to start with, I want to go back, if you don't mind, and sort of the longer-term relationship and the feelings towards FSG from the Boston Red Sox's point of view and their management, their ownership. And give us a brief timeline and history, if you like, of sort of how it all started. Has it always been a happy marriage?

Has it always been conflict? Tell us a little bit about it. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's kind of been a tale of two eras. I mean, at the very beginning, I mean, this goes back to when I was a little kid. I was, I'm 29. They've owned the team for as long as I've been watching them. And, And at first, you know, they buy the team.

It got to 86 years. as I've been watching them. And at first, you know, they buy the team.

And under this ownership group, they won the World Series in 2004.

They won the World Series in 2007.

They did it again in 2013.

They did it again in 2018.

And all along the way, ownership spent, they spent money.

They cared about the team. The fans, I mean, you know with this in sports. The fans will always complain about things and it always goes up to ownership. But for the most part, when you compared

them to other owners in the sport, really just Class A owners.

I mean, really, really small little things to nipick.

It's like, oh, they care about flashiness instead of overwinning.

And it's like these are first world problems to have because after the 2019 season, they fire the general manager.

They hire a new guy.

They're really diving into analytics.
