This is a Friday afternoon to come to Salat al-Jewah and especially those that are on the

outside may Allah SWT make it easy for them and those that walked in and got their clothes

soaked, what makes you take off of your work if you had work, sacrifice an hour of earning

to come to this masjid except for the love of Allah SWT.

And I want us to just seize this point on the idea of sacrifice and how that plays into

our Ramadan goals and how that plays into our relationship with Allah SWT.

Everything that the Prophet ﷺ spoke about in terms of giving up our food and drink

for the sake of Allah SWT is something that Allah SWT praises and says look at my servants

they gave up their food and their drink especially when it's a hot summer day and when you're

in those last moments of your iftar and your Lord or right before iftar and your Lord

is looking at you at 7.45 pm when you're dehydrated and tired and hot and Allah SWT sees you

in that moment making du'at to him, SWT asking him for his goodness even while the food

is right around the corner from you you're just thinking about Allah SWT and you are exerting

yourself in du'at.

And how does Allah SWT look at you on the day of Arafah?

I know it's not a hard time yet but may Allah SWT write it down for us, the day of Arafah

when the people are gathered dusty, tired, sleep schedule off with their hands raised for

hours and Allah SWT boasting to the angels saying look at these people what is it that

these people want for me?
