0:45.1	going to be discussing the question, what are words of wisdom and words of knowledge?
0:50.2	Two spiritual gifts mentioned in the New Testament. And the problem is we don't have a definition.
0:54.8	In fact, we don't even have a description of what these look like in practice.
0:58.2	We just have them appearing in one of the lists of spiritual gifts in the New Testament.
1:03.6	And so there's lots of debate around this question, what are words of wisdom and words of knowledge?
1:07.9	And so let's go to the text itself, 1 Corinthians chapter 12, beginning in verse 7.
1:12.8	It says to each is given the manifestation of the spirit for the common good. For to one is
1:17.4	given through the spirit the utterance of wisdom or the word of wisdom. To another the utterance
1:22.2	of knowledge according to the same spirit. From there, beginning in verse 9, Paul continues to
1:26.6	list spiritual gifts, including the
1:28.4	gift of faith, gifts of healings, gifts of working of miracles, prophecy, distinguishing between
1:34.6	spirits, various kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues. He finishes in verse 11 by saying
