coming back. I'm super excited for this conversation. Thank you for the return invitation. I'm glad to be here.

So the reason you are the man for me, I've been wanting to talk about the corporal and spiritual

works of mercy. And what I love about Catholicism,

why I'm a Catholic, even though the Vatican is ridiculous and infiltrated and bad and whatever,

is that Catholicism not only tells you what not to do, it tells you what to do. And before we get into this, I have to give a shout out.

I listened to a show yesterday on Substack on Geopolitics and Empire.

I have another podcast called Cognitive Dissidence with Hervoy, Moorich, who hosts

Geopolitics and Empire and Parallel Mike of the Parallel Systems Broadcast.

But Hervoye interviewed a guy named Peter Grandich. I had not known him before, but he's a finance

guy, a rags to riches guy, guy, like, dropped out of high school and he was still a finance

guru. And he ended the conversation, their hour-long talk about finance, with a quote

that I'm telling you, I never heard anyone say this, but my mother absolutely lived by it.

He said almost the same thing in the same accents. I think the guy must be from Flatbush or

something. He said, I don't get into the, you know, do you believe in Jesus? Do you, are you

sure? Why are you Catholic? He said, it's just, as my mother would say, it's just a better way to

live. And it is just a better way to live. I'm not saying there aren't other equally good ways to live,

but as far as faith, not faith, who's right, who's wrong, I really focus on the works of mercy,

virtues and vices. I just love the very well-defined guideposts of Catholicism, and I have never been in other religions,

so many other religions have similar specificity.

But I really want to talk about this, and let's start with the corporal works of mercy.
