From outrageous to illegal?

I'm a camp councillor at an overnight camp.

One kid's mum called to tell us that her kid can't drink water or take a shower

because he was going to have a mental breakdown from all the minerals and the contaminated water.

She said he could only be exposed to pure water, whatever that means. Long story short,

she tried to sue us for unsanitary water conditions. Lady, your kid's going to have a mental

breakdown from the dehydration from the lack of water, whether purified or not. I worked at a camp

and a parent came to me explaining how her child would need help going

to the bathroom, specifically wiping as they're not potty trained.

The child was seven. He wasn't special needs or anything like that. His mother just always

did it for him. We refunded money to the parent and explained that being potty trained

was one of the conditions for the camp. My husband's nephew is this way. I hate it. His mother is a horrible person and he's a nightmare child. He just does whatever he wants and screams and curses in your face whenever you try to get him to stop. He'll scream things like, I'll punch you in the ding-dong, or I'll freaking kill you, and nothing anyone does will make him behave. He's not properly potty trained

and he's like six or seven, I don't know. I actively avoid him because he's such a little

crap bag. He'll just sit on the toilet screaming, I'm done, until someone comes and wipes for him.

It's horrible and disgusting and I don't know how he handles school. Used to work at the mall,

the amount of people who'd ask us to watch their kids while they finished shopping was astounding. The worst, though, was the woman who just left her five-year-old daughter at the store, because we had a kid's table and she told her to sit there and play. It was a stupid busy day, so we didn't notice at first, but then when it slowed, we realized we had an abandoned kid on our hands.

The manager was on the phone with security when the mom came back, grabbed the kid and effed off without a word.

Our library children staff regularly found young children abandoned in their department.

About once a month, someone dumps their kid at the library and doesn't show up before closing.

One of the staff waits with the kid for a while, but eventually we have to call the cops. It's amazing how many of them are crappy about it too. We don't get paid overtime, folks. We had parents a few weeks ago
