But this week we are going to be talking about spiritual disciplines. I've been wanting to cover

this topic for a little while now ever since I took a course that covered spiritual disciplines and

just the lifestyle of worship and communion with God, you know, what that looks like to live that

out as believers. So shout to DBU's master program, shout to Dr. Wicker because that course

seriously changed my life. And since then, you know, I've tried different means of spiritual disciplines

in my own walk with Jesus and I've just seen so much fruit from that. And my hope is that you

feel refreshed through today's podcast as we break down different disciplines, the importance of

spiritual discipline and the fruit of spiritual disciplines, what comes from acting out these things

and implementing these things into our lives. So the other night, I was on Zoom with some of my friends

and we're going through our goals, our dreams, our vision disciplines that we want to instill for

the new year. And one question we all discussed and answered was what spiritual discipline do you want

to focus on this year? And a few other girls didn't really know how to answer that question. And I

think it's because we don't have an accurate understanding for what that means. Like I feel like

unless you know what spiritual disciplines are, you really don't know what that means other than,

you know, okay, is that spending time with God? Is that reading your Bible? Is a spiritual discipline

like correcting sin? Is it praying more? Is it having a routine? We're going to define our terms,

okay? So Ephesians chapter 3 verse 16 says, I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen

you with power through his spirit in your inner being. So spiritual disciplines, this isn't a verse

that's specifically and only about spiritual disciplines, but I think this gives us a good look
