Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the Catholic Talk Show today. We're going to be examining some Marion apparitions.

0:06.0

That's right. We're going to look at the history of Marion apparitions, break down their meaning, give you all the places that our lady has appeared and so much more.

0:30.0

Alright, good to be back in the studio with you guys. Really awesome topic. I know Marion's appeared a lot in history and the context of each one is very different so it'll be a really cool episode together.

0:57.0

True, but a big shout out goes to our lady of Guadalupe because she's the reason we're here. Through her intercession, that's how Fuzotti was really developing the productions as we consecrated all of these efforts that we're doing through her intercession and where this all got started.

1:18.0

What a great trip that was. That was an incredible trip. We'll chair an all Ryan Delacross.

1:25.0

You know, our lady is really integral to the Catholic faith and her intercession is something that we all fly to and under her patronage we seek.

1:36.0

But our lady has appeared in so many places, so many times, so many messages and it reminds me of the persistence of, you know, my own mother, our own mother's right, you know, she is constantly trying to keep us on the straight narrow towards her son.

1:52.0

And we're going to look at literally all generations will call me blessed when you think about how many times she has appeared. It's true. All generations, all nations.

2:02.0

That's right. So what we're going to do today is we're going to look at a lot of different Marion apparitions. Now, we're not going to go into a lot of great detail on each particular apparition because each one of these could have multiple episodes to explain them.

2:15.0

We've done episodes in our 80s, Guadalupe in the past and we'll do episodes on particular apparitions in the future like lords and Fatima, knock and Akita.

2:24.0

But this is not that episode. What we're talking about today is what is Marion apparition? Why does it happen? How does the church approve them and then give you a list of a lot of different apparitions and you can go learn a little bit more about and start to develop personal devotions yourself.

2:39.0

And a very important distinction to be made in the process of this is the distinction between private and public revelation and apparitions really relating exclusively to private revelation because it was an encounter with a particular person or people with our lady and it's more related to private revelation and what that means to the mystical body of Christ the church.

3:05.0

Now, you said something important there. Marion apparitions, one of the qualifiers is that they don't add anything to the deposit of the faith. The deposit of the faith and the things that Catholics are held and bound to believe are firmly established and one of the criteria or the disqualifiers of a Marion apparition is whether or not it tries to add something that Catholics must believe because that is not what Mary does. Mary does not set those things nor would any valid apparition try to do that.

3:35.0

So there are actual norms that the church put out in 79 specifically entitled norms regarding the manner of proceeding and the discernment of presumed apparitions or revelations.

3:48.0

It's a short one of those boys at the Vatican should know that title title it. But you know, I think it's important to realize from the doctrine of the faith, you know, the church is concerned about, you know, alleged apparitions and different things that mass media

4:03.0

can basically pick up and popularize and immediately people are kind of flocking around a private revelation and they're putting into practice whatever.

4:13.0

Like Mary and a grilled cheese sandwich over there. Oh, yeah, and remember Mary on the in the window like, you know, I forget what area in Florida that was.

4:21.0

But I mean, it was just like Mary in the bathroom at Patty's pub. She shouldn't have been there. That's right. Well, you know, Charlie should just done a job cleaning in the window.

4:33.0

But you know, these these things can produce popular cultic type of response. And it's important to realize that, you know, the doctrine of the faith and Holy Mother Church, the Magisterium wants to keep us in relationship to scripture and tradition.

4:51.0

And then if there is an apparition, the church is going to investigate it and really draw from it for popular piety. And it's your choice if you want to really devote yourself to a particular private revelation or not.

5:06.0

Like for me, I'm a big divine mercy fan. Everybody knows that about me. A lot of my talks are colored in with St. Faustina's teachings. I really hope that she will become a doctor in the church one day.

5:19.0

Yeah. So, you know, and that's okay. All right. So here are some of those. I guess criteria that the church uses to determine or give a judgment on a particular claim of an apparition.
