This week we're going to talk a little bit about a critical issue when it comes to examining

the reliability of the Gospels as eyewitness accounts.

Now, a lot of people would push back on that, and I have talked about that in prior episodes

of this broadcast, about why we would accept or why we would even consider the Gospels to be

eyewitness accounts in the first place. But what I really want to talk about is this

period, this tunnel period that sometimes referred to, that period of time

between the observations that gospel authors made about Jesus and the time at which these observations

were first penned. In other words, I think sometimes in our culture, we're so familiar with the

immediacy of information and capturing information that you know, for example, if you were at an event and something crazy started to happen, one of the first things you would do is pull out your phone and start actually videotaping.

I say taping, like I was videotape anymore, recording on video through your phone, the episode in front of you.

And I think we kind of sense that we're in a culture now that the immediacy of the event

and the first record of the event is shorter and shorter and shorter.

So now we pretty much capture things and almost stream them immediately.
