In the end, there is nothing grand or mythic about his death at all.

He simply dies.

But in the end, neither depiction of his death answers the real question.

His body might fall or crumble, but that tells us nothing about what truly became of him.

Not the man, not the flesh, but the part he tried hardest to protect.

The part he mutilated in his quest for immortality, his soul.

people just sort of accept that Voldemort dies, and that's it. There's even an underlying

irony that Voldemort, in the books at least, dies a mortal death, simply collapsing on the floor.

But if you really think about it, no actions are without their consequences,

especially when you're one of the darkest wizards of all time that has made a habit out of

experimenting with the worst kinds of dark magic imaginable. And in a magical world,

dying doesn't mean you're exempt from facing the consequences of your actions. Dying isn't a

get out of jail free card.

You still murdered countless people and split your soul into a bunch of pieces.
