Privacy. That's nothing personal word of the day for February 4, 2020. Privacy is exactly

what the writer who did not vote for Derek Jeter wanted with his Hall of Fame ballot.

As you recall, Derek Jeter made the Hall of Fame, except he was going to be unanimous

like his teammate, Mariana Rivera. And one guy or girl voted no. Didn't vote for him.

Didn't check his name in a box. Was it a hanging chad? Was it a mistakenly placed

ballot? Did he think he was signing Derek Jeter clicking his name and ended up clicking?

I don't know. JJ Puts his name. We'll never know because the baseball writers association

voted to make every ballot public. And the Hall of Fame said, no, we will not allow that.

We do not agree. If a writer wants privacy, we're going to give it to him. If he wants to

capitalize on the privacy, we're going to let him. If he wants to let it go, we're

going to let it go. And for the rest of time, Jeter is not unanimous. You're fired. Is

that how it goes when Jim Dolan fires Steve Mills? He just calls him in. When I fired

people, I've done it many different ways. You can do it the regular way. We've decided

to move in another direction. The nice way is I really am so sorry about this. Never apologize

when you're firing someone, but you could just say, hey, I'm really sorry, but you know,

we're just not performing the way I want us to perform. We're going to move on. I think

this was something a little more acute that would have caused the fire in Steve Mills today.

Even Jim Dolan, who as we know, has had a record as an owner that makes our ownership

group in Miami look much more successful than maybe it was on the field. We got a world

championship, at least. Steve Mills is the president of a team that has not been in the
