What is the difference between a co-host and a regular host?

I guess a regular host sits on a rolly chair like this one,

and a co-host sits on my couch, like you're doing.

And the regular host tries to entertain the audience while the co-host laughs at all my jokes,

even when they're not funny so that the audience

thinks I'm funnier than I am.
