The Labour MP Catherine Atkinson was elected in July last year to represent Derby North. Before that,

Catherine, worked as a barrister. And Catherine, I gather at a young age,

you were told that if you went into the law, you could argue for a living. And you thought

that sounded pretty great. Presumably politics had the same appeal. Absolutely. Though I do

think that representing people was probably a bit better than even than arguing for a living. But

So Bernard Jenkins is the Conservative MP for Harwich and North Essex and has been an MP since

1992, a little longer than Catherine. After shadowing several ministerial briefs, Bernard

built a career scrutinising the work of government on select committees. In the last Parliament,

he was chair of the liaison committee,

which brings together senior MPs to grill the Prime Minister,

and Sakea Stama has a date with that committee on Tuesday.
