and for nearly a decade she kept tabs on value for money in government spending as chair of the Public Accounts Committee.

Now as chair of the Treasury Select Committee, it's the Chancellor who's come under her watchful gaze.

because that is going to set how this government will both deliver,

but also manage the budget over the next four years.
