Hello pod I'm Chris Hewitt and welcome to the latest MPAR podcast interview special and this one

is very special because it features words. I honestly never expected to be saying on the

Emperor podcast and I've had occasion of the years to say words I never thought I'd say but I

really honestly never truly thought I would ever say the words and delighted to be joined on

the Emperor podcast by Bruce Springsteen. Yes Bruce Springsteen the boss one of the greatest rock stars

of all time and he's had something over a year of it's cinematically speaking. First of all Jim

Cummings excellent Thunder Road was built around one of his most famous songs then Grinda Chadas

wonderful blinded by the light was built around many of his most famous songs and now we have

Western stars which is built around several of his most recent songs but still they are

absolute belters the film which is out today October 25th is more than a concert film as Springsteen

and his band perform his new album Western stars song by song it also contains a series of short

films which link the songs and explain more about their background and origin at a mark springsteens

directorial debut team in here with long term collaborator Tom Simney so when the two came into

London recently we jumped at the chance to have a nod about them about the film and then about

Springsteens connection to cinema and when I say we I mean myself and Ben Travis hello hello Ben
