Today on the podcast is one of the best female runners in the NCAA, Ceili McCabe!
Ceili runs for West Virginia, where she has cemented herself as one of the greatest runners in program history.
Ceili is an 8XAll-American, was 3rd at the 2021 NCAA XC Championships, is a 2xWorld Championship qualifier, a 2024 Paris Olympian, the record holder in the steeplechase for Canada, and a Canadian XC Champion.
She's run 8:50 in the 3k, 9:20 in the Steeple, and 4:29 in the Mile.
With these accolades, she's one of the most decorated athletes in the NCAA at the moment. I hadn't heard her story publicized on a larger level, so I wanted to sit down with her and hear about her journey that has led her to this point.
In today's conversation, Ceili takes me through her progression in college, how she handles not being showcased as much as other athletes, her thoughts on her ambitions for the upcoming NCAA XC National meet, what her legacy at West Virginia means to her, and so much more.
