The New York Giants announced a contract extension for Joe Shane.

So a couple of things jumped to mind.

Number one, I got to give credit to Sean Morash because it was a few months ago when Sean Morash used the bully pulpit of WFAN to say that he believed that the best course of action the New York

Giants should take to end the chatter around Joe Shane, to end any chatter around, are they

going to fire him? Is he going to stay? Is he unhappy with the new arrangement? His suggestion

was to give him a contract extension. That's right. And so ladies and gentlemen, I take you back to February when Sean Morash said this. Here's how you stop that. You don't call Paul Schwartz and say, here, we want you to put this out. You know what you do? You announce an extension for however many years for Joe Shane, one year, two, year, three years. Because if you extend Joe Shane and we find that out publicly,

he got asked about that yesterday, then who's sitting there questioning what he does? He's locked up.

We're questioning that because he's only got a year left and we just changed the structure.

Yeah. So instead of taking your time to do that, put pen to paper and put an extension and we all shut up about it.

And then nobody looks bad here. I heard that John Mara heard that clip and said, I think that guy's on to something.

Or, or you could just effectively, fairly evaluate Joe Shane and determine whether or not he was worth keeping around here.

So his win-lost record was terrible.

But how much of that was on him versus terrible coaching?

The I are the coaches.

Yeah.

I think Joe Shane should have been extended, Tiki. The 20 draft might be the worst draft in giant history. Okay. That's on his resume, is it not? Okay. What about the 2025 draft? Very good. And I agree with you. What about the 2024 draft? To be determined. What about the free agencies over the last two years?

Okay.

What about the modernization of the antiquated, grossly antiquated scouting system that they had?

Okay, but that's what about the AI? What about the AI help to hire John Harbaugh?

All of these things are things that Joe Shane has done.
