Moving on from Danny Aange, officially termed a retirement by Danny Aange.

Even though he reiterated today, we'll see what is in store for me in the future, as if he's not stepping away from basketball, just the Celtics. And Brad Stevens has been reassigned. He's been given Danny's old job, which I don't know. I don't know how I feel about that one. Well, think of it this way, Mike. Name one of the team in the NBA that would hire Brad Stevens as president of basketball ops. That's what I said earlier. If I had an NBA team, I was looking for a GM, Stevens would not be on my list. Like I agree with Wick and saying if he was out there, a team would hire him as a second, in a second as a head coach. Yeah. But as president of basketball ops? Huh? Right. Exactly. Would he have been on your list as coach in the first place, though? Like, if you go back to that, I wouldn't have had him as coach then. Like, eight years ago, you want to put them on your list?

And I don't know anything. This isn't the phone. This is just me guessing. The Pacers job is out there. So maybe the Pacers made a phone call and inquired. And they offered Brad the Rick Petino job, president of basketball ops, and you can coach. Okay. So my conspiracy theory is that Stevens may not be long for this job or they may bring in a GM underneath them that's actually going to pull the strings or, you know, just that comment that Wick made to us a couple months ago, that if I fired these guys, they'd be the first ones hired. And he's conscious of that. He doesn't want Brad Stevens being hired away from him. And I don't know why. Like, I think Wick's putting too too much into that but if that's really the way that he feels then this makes sense in that no i'm not going to fire
