Ralph, I'm sure our listeners want to hear all about the Breaking Through Power Conference

you hosted last week and we've been promoting on the show in the weeks before.

Debrief us, how did it go?

Well we had the greatest collection of citizen advocacy groups brought together under one roof in American history, which illustrates two things, that when they all get together, they see the inter relations with one another because when it comes to challenging

raw power in the search for justice, the forces of injustice work 24-7 and they use all the tools right across the continuum and what our four days tried to demonstrate is that we have the tools

We need more resources we need more staff we need more resources. We need more staff. We need more groups. But look what these few groups have accomplished over the last 40, 50 years with very modest budgets and very small staff. They've changed for the better the living conditions of all Americans. Clean your air, water, safer food, more focus on nutrition, protection of some levels of worker safety and consumer rights.

Of course the environmental movement was launched about 50 years ago in order to

manage the cumulative forms of silent violence we too charitably call

pollution. So they all gave wonderful very concise presentations which you can all

see they were streamed to the public live last week by the

real news network and if you go to the real news network dot org you can see whatever you want to see there are

32 hours of original programming never before brought together the other thing

that came out was that the mass media just doesn't know or is

unwilling to cover these kinds of gatherings. They will cover entertainment

gatherings like the Academy Awards and innumerable other smaller gatherings.

They will cover sports indefinitely.
