Summary

#175. On this week's show Ed & Paul look back on United's victory over Swansea. After three defeats on the spin David Moyes' side secured a small measure of redemption against the Welsh outfit. Three points keep United in contention for a spot in next season's Champions League, but perhaps more importantly, injects a little confidence into the squad. Yet, it was one of the strangest games at Old Trafford in recent years, with United enjoying just 30% of the possession in a match that only really came to life in the second half. Fortunately United could rely on Adnan Janzaj, the 18-year-old kid who has become integral to Moyes' side. Almost too important for a player of such a young age. We take your questions, reveal the winner of our book competition, and look forward to matches against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Sunderland in the Capital One Cup at Old Trafford. No Question About That is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music and all good podcast apps. And the So, victory over Swansea City last week. I think going into that league gaming as mid-ranked opponents was probably the lowest we've felt in terms of expectations for quite some time, wasn't it?

0:38.3

Absolutely in the first half lived up to those expectations gloriously, but then my prediction of a 3-0 comfortable win

where we put in a performance managed to come true after Moyes made some magic happen in

0:49.6

the second half swapping Kaguar and Yamazai around a master stroke.

0:53.7

Well I suppose so, although the flip side of that argument would be why the hell did he play Kigawa out of place in the first place.

1:00.9

But you know, hey.

1:01.9

So you're right to first point there you said was that United were pretty poor in first half, very, very poor in fact. It was very, very labored performance. And weirdly, it was almost as if United were playing like the away side

1:15.2

and happy to concede possession let's ones he have it in front of them that's

1:19.7

actually pretty comfortable defensively really in all truth you know for much of that

1:24.4

half of those ones he did create some you know quite a few chances in the end and and

1:28.9

then to try and break but it was pretty ineffective I thought in a very labored

1:33.2

Kogar out of position on the left wing couldn't get into the game.

1:36.4

Janersai wasn't influencing from that position at number 10 which you know I think

1:40.5

we all believe that he'll eventually take up but on the day in the first

1:44.8

45 he wasn't able to really get into the game in the way that he might have wanted and then

1:49.4

flip those two players around for the second half and it really worked Kogawa.

1:53.0

All of a sudden became the playmaker that we really believe him to be.

1:57.0

I mean, his ability to turn and break at speed and then bring players into play

was fantastic and then Janazai confident on the

ball consistently finding space put across it in and it really worked for United in the end.

2:09.4

Absolutely. I mean I think that those were the absolute outstanding changes weren't they the

the flipping round of those positions to play them in more natural positions because
