| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Wellness on Mass. I'm Dr. Nicole Sapphire, and this is your weekly rundown. |
| 0:06.1 | Now, I was waiting until the very last minute to put this out because I wanted to see if the CDC's |
| 0:11.3 | ASIP was going to hold a vote on whether or not to be giving universal hepatotitis B vaccines to newborns. |
| 0:19.3 | And to be honest, they're just talking, talking, talking. |
| 0:21.6 | A lot of the members of this community love to hear themselves talk. |
| 0:24.8 | So I got to get this out to you. |

| 1:19.9 | For those infants, ASIP is weighing whether to eliminate the universal birth dose and instead allowed |
| 1:25.0 | the first shot to be given at two months of age. |
| 1:28.4 | Because they're not worried about the mother passing hepatitis B to the infant during |
| 1:33.1 | birth now, this dose at two months is just to protect them for the future because you can still |
| 1:39.5 | get hepatitis B. So here's the debate. The pro-vaccine position saying essentially there's decades of data |
| 1:48.0 | of clear benefit. If you look at hepatitis B infections in the United States, they have gone down |
