Welcome to Birthful. I'm Adriana Lozada and I'm thrilled to have you be part of our community.

Now, I started this podcast in 2014 with the goal of helping new and expectant parents

sort through the overwhelming amount of information that gets thrown at them during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum,

and to distill it down to the relevant stuff

so they could go on to parent from a place of confidence and curiosity.

Nearly every week since then, I have shared illuminating conversations with parinatal

professionals. I've listened to new parents recount their stories from a place of open vulnerability,

and I have provided you with the insights of gained as a working birth dula and parinatal

educator for over 15 years. It has been such a wild ride. And that also means that we have

published well over 300 episodes, which is mind-blowing.

In fact, there's a running joke among my birth to friends that whatever the perinatal

topic you want to learn more about, there's a birthful episode for that.

But with so many episodes, it can be nearly impossible to get through all of them.

We did the math, and if you listen to a birthful episode per day, it would take you from

the day you conceived until about when your baby turned two months to get through all of them.

That is just also overwhelming, and we hate overwhelm, which is why we've decided to focus

on providing you with a more curated birthful experience.

So for this new face of the podcast, we will be updating and republishing our episodes

in related groups or miniseries, if you will, to make it easier for you to find the content you need in a way that will

guide you through the different stages of your perinatal journey.

And since we're such fans of context and nuance, our first series will focus on models and places

of birth because it's vital for you to understand how the perinatal health care system
