Hello and as always, welcome to the sister wives professor. That's me. I'm Dr. Adam,

Professor of Communication and big fan of reality television, and this is my silly little podcast,

where we talk about reality shows, especially sister wives and other stuff,

though, too. Like Welcome to Plathville. We are going to talk about Welcome to Plathville,

Season 8, Episode 7, A Bone to Pick with you. Got some good feedback last week, some insights into potentially the Plath family dynamic and their use of holidays or avoidance of holidays,

which is relevant for this episode. So I just want to say to the people that were reaching out

to kind of help me understand because I did not and still don't really understand

the Plath family nearly as much as I want to. It's not my world. It's very, very different

from the world I grew up in. And that's part of why I find

them so interesting, but it does put me in a conundrum sometimes as somebody that wants to interpret them.

as long as I'm not hanging out with my kids or whatever you know speaking of kids though we got to

talk about the plas because the grown adult plath children that sounds confusing, you know. Speaking of kids, though, we got to talk about the Plaths because the grown adult Plath children, that sounds confusing, but you know what I mean, are doing stuff. So let's get to the episode. We start out at the Plath family home, the bear lair. That's what I'm going to call it now. Unfortunately, Isaac's on speaker with his girlfriend, Kalin, politely lets her know that she is on speaker,

tells her that they are waiting on her and they're about to go to Montana. He's excited for this trip. And after the breakup with Kailen, he says, things are more or less back to normal, maybe even better than ever. You might roll your eyes at that, and I understand why, but sometimes that happens, especially when you're young. Sometimes you do need that

kind of reset and a break to think about what you really want. I've been in relationships where

there was a breakup, and we came back together and had a much better relationship for the duration

of the rest of the relationship, or at least compared to, you know, the totality of it before

because it gave me or that person
