I am Dr. Adam. I am a professor of interpersonal and family communication.

What that means is I have a PhD and I teach classes in family dynamics, relationships, gender identity, and actually organizations as well,

but that's not really as relevant, although it's more relevant to these podcasts than you might think.

But yeah, that's what I do. When I do this, I have this podcast where I talk to you about reality television, and I'm so glad that you allow me to do that. Thanks for doing that. Hope you're doing well. I'm doing great. In a way, I'm doing great. In another way, I kind of don't know what I'm doing. So, okay, real quick, I promise this is going to be brief. So you may or may not know I'm a big fan of

the band, Kiss, their music and their iconography. Uh, the guys in Kiss, I'm, you know, as people,

not crazy about, but it's just one of those things. I don't know, I've loved him since I was a teenager.

It's, it's complicated, okay? Anyway, recently, my buddy Jacob, he was at a collectible show in the next

state over, sent me a text, and ipso facto, yada, yada, yada, I am now the proud owner of all four

of the original 1970s Migo Kistols, each one autographed by the band member. If that is gibberish to you, don't even worry about it. It doesn't matter. Or look it up if you want to talk to me about it. I would love to talk to you about it, but I'm going to post about this on social media. I'm going to share a picture of these dolls. And yes, they're dolls. They're not action figures. I don't care. I don't have a sensitive bone in my body about this.

I'm a 400-year-old toy collector. You think shame is in my lexicon? It's not.

So yeah, I'm going to rock and roll all night and part of every day. I can only do part of every day.

Let's talk about welcome to

Plathville. They're partying in this episode. See, it's thematic. I did this on purpose. I did not

do this on purpose. One thing to let you know, I don't know if you remember this or not. Fair enough

if you don't, but when I covered the season finale of Seeking Sister Wife,

season two, it was like this episode, the finale of Season 3 of Welcome to Plathville. It was two hours long. And so for the sake of this podcast, I'm going to split this into two weeks. So this week I'll do part one of Welcome to Plathville, Season 3, episode 12. I want to talk to your parents. Next week, I will wrap up this episode, because again, it is very, very long. And then, hopefully next week, if I timed it outright, the week after next, I mean to say, we're going to start the new season of Welcome to Plathville. Hopefully, I'll be able to do that with you. That's a lot of preamble. Let's talk about Welcome to Plathville, season three, episode 12, part one. Again, I'll finish it next week. I want to talk to your parents.

We start out with Olivia and Ethan in their car. Olivia's very stressed. They are arriving at the Plath family home. Olivia, very, very nervous. You can see in her facial expression, in her haptics, her use of touch, everything, her oculesics, her eye movement. This is very uncomfortable for her, as you might imagine, because as she points out to us, she hasn't seen Barry and Kim face to face. Clearly, she's been around them because of the concert, but she hasn't, especially willingly, seen their faces in two years.
