Hello and welcome to October. It's my favorite time of the year and the perfect time to get a little

spooky with our stories. Now, before we get into this bonus episode, I wanted to take a second

to chat with some of the new subscribers to this podcast. Over the last few months, I've noticed an

influx of listeners, and I honestly couldn't be happier. So let me take a second to introduce myself to you guys.

My name is Karina Bimisdurfer.

I am a 30-year-old mom to a four-year-old who was looking for a way to create my perfect job,

but complete it all during nap time.

And with that, morning cup of murder was born.

That was back in May of 2019, and while my child's naps are now

non-existent and the stories have gotten a lot more detailed and time-consuming, it's still

the most perfect job I could have asked for. I find the dates, research the crimes,

write the stories, and stumble through recording while my husband edits them and makes it all sound pretty.

So this podcast has truly become a family affair.

True crime has been a major interest of mine since I was a kid,

when my dad let me watch a horror movie at the age of four and talked me through the process of making movie monsters.

That grew into a love for special effects makeup and

horror movies, which then grew into a love for reading about real life monsters who don't wear masks.

In fact, one of the first gifts my husband gave me when we started dating more than 11 years ago

was a big encyclopedia of 500 serial killers and murderers that I still used to this day.

Thankfully, I didn't scare him off or else I wouldn't have anyone to edit out my cursing and

absolute word vomit.
