Hi everybody. This is our brand new podcast, Grow, Cook, Eat, Arrange. I'm Sarah Raven.

And I'm Arthur Parkinson. We've worked together now for nearly 10 years and we're quite complimentary. I love

gardening in general, but growing produce both food and flowers as the part I love the most. I also love

to cook straightforward garden pit food every day with a minimal amount of ingredients in Palava but the

greatest amount of taste. I'm Sarah's florist and so I visit

Perch Hill all through the year. I pick flowers from the garden to make beautiful arrangements for

our mail order photoshoots and for our shop on our open days. This means buckets of scented sweet peas,

huge armfuls of dahlias and towering gladioli. This lockdown we decided to launch our podcast,

with three episodes coming out on Friday the 12th of February and then a new one every Friday

each week. It should be fun, a chat between us both, informative and they'll be about half an hour

long. We're going to cover all sorts of topics, but they'll centre each week on what our favourite flowers are growing in the garden

and what the most tasty and edible vegetables are growing on the veg slope here at Perch Hill.

We'll talk about how to sew and grow them as well as how to harvest or arrange them,

adding all of our tips and favourite methods of arranging along the way.

Arthur and I have pretty similar tastes.

We both love saturated, rich colours that we call the Venetian palette, mixes of crimson's,

purples, royal blue and magenta. But on the whole, we agree, but not always. No, that's right,

Sarah. Lately you've moved into more of a pastel palette,

or what I call the hospital care home shades,

but we'll talk about that through the episodes as we go.
