Hey everyone. Welcome back, or I guess welcome back to us. If you have been a listener of the

Scripture Study Project before, then we are excited to be connected to you again. If you're new here, well,

then this is us. We are a podcasting team. My wife's name is Krista. My name is Zach. Back in 2018,

I was teaching Release Time Seminary in Utah, and I would come home from teaching and describe

these discussions I'd had with my students to Krista.

And she just remarked once, wouldn't it be nice if other people had this kind of opportunity to have these kinds of discussions?

We were pretty new podcast listeners, and so we looked around and couldn't see anybody that was talking

regularly about scriptures in an audio format and so we decided we would give it a

try we bought a cheap microphone on Amazon we would record once our kids would go

to bed we would lock ourselves in our closet we grabbed a bathroom stool

we put our microphone on the stool, we'd hover around this microphone, and then we would talk scriptures with each other. And it must have taken us hours to record our first episode because we were so self-conscious and didn't know what we were saying. But we always convinced ourselves, this is really just going to be kind of a family legacy. No one's

going to listen to this. Maybe our kids will someday. But we did it. We had 50 episodes of the Book

of Mormon that first year and really liked the experience and had the intent of going for

three more years through all four books of Scripture. Well the next year the church announced

Come Follow Me, which shifted everything.

Now, everybody in the church was focusing on the same block of scripture every single week.

And so we aligned our podcast with Come Follow Me. We did a New Testament season that season.

And of course, we're joined then by so many other incredible thinkers, speakers,

podcasters, and the world just exploded. Now everybody was able to have all of this access

to so many different thoughts. The discussion was wonderful. And we really enjoyed it. So for the next four years, along with Come Follow Me,

we did these four seasons in a row and loved it.
