But before we get into that, just a reminder, an asteroid is going to swing right past the Earth today and not kill us all.

So for anyone who's wondering about this, there's an asteroid called 2012 LZ1.

And it's going to be passing very close to the Earth about 3.35 million miles away, which is about 14 times as distance between the Earth and the Moon.

So not very close at all. In fact, recently we've had asteroids have come within a fraction of the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

It's all still safe. So if you see a lot of news about this event, it's very far away.

That's pretty common, isn't it? 14 times the distance the Earth of the Moon?

It's a big area. It's a really big volume.

So yeah.

Yeah, that happens quite a bit.

I mean, I know we get a couple every year that pass within the Earth and the Moon.

We had one just a couple of months ago.
