Summary

1:26.9	the University of San Francisco. I'm here today in a mid-summer mid-August back to
1:33.5	school Friday with my co-host. I'm Dan Miller, professor of religion and social
1:38.9	thought at landmark college in the swampy northeast where we've had nothing but
1:43.9	rain like all summer. I know places you care about like who wide's very close to
1:49.4	you as being ravaged by forest fires. We're being ravaged by floods all because of
1:53.4	the global warming that's not real so nice to take a break from all of that and
1:57.7	hang out with you for a while. Yeah, it's been it's been a tough week for me and
2:03.1	my family. So my some of this but some of you don't. My my family's history on
2:06.7	Maui goes back about 125 years so we are not native Hawaiian and would yeah but
2:14.6	we are Japanese American. My great grandfather went to Maui from Japan right
2:19.2	around the end of the 19th century so my grandfather was born there. My father
2:23.1	was born there. A lot most of my aunts, uncles, cousins born there live there
2:28.4	etc. So yeah, it's been pretty hard week in terms of what's happened.
