running down from Capitol Hill as we speak. Clay, the latest here is that Jim Jordan's

speakership campaign is faltering. I had thought that this would be something like the Kevin

McCarthy campaign earlier this year, which took some time to get going, but eventually after

what 14 votes that he had the votes and he got it done. There was some some horse trading,

some negotiating, and that was enough now. Kevin McCarthy didn't last very long in that role,

which has brought us to our current moment, but the list of defectors is getting bigger so far.

And people are starting to say now it is looking less and less likely that Jim Jordan will in fact

be the speaker of that. So with that in mind, we turn to the what exactly is the plan here,

what exactly is the strategy. I'm starting to think if there was one, we would know what it is,

not just because we could come up with it, but because the people that have pushed this to this point
