Summary

(00:00-24:42) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison recapping the Pacers game last night in Denver against the Nuggets. Additionally, they spend some time going through some of their takeaways from Wild Card weekend in the NFL. Jake and Jimmy close out the segment by admitting that the Detroit Lions are the team to root for in the playoffs when you consider everything the organization and Jarred Goff has gone through.

(24:42-40:39) – The voice of Indiana basketball in Don Fischer makes his weekly appearance on Query & Company to recap the breakout game from freshman Mackenzie Mgbako. Additionally, Don explains the importance of Gabe Cupps defense against a very talented offensive team in Purdue tomorrow night and accesses what Xavier Johnson’s current role is with this IU team. Finally, he explains what the Hoosiers will need to do to pull off the upset against Matt Painter’s team.

(40:39-44:55) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy highlighting one storyline outside of Jordan Love and the Detroit Lions that caught their eye from the four playoff games over the weekend in the NFL.

(44:55-1:12:14) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Jake and Jimmy to share his thoughts on the Wild Card games from the weekend. Additionally, he states that Michael Pittman Jr. was so silent during the season because he understands he will get paid in Indy or elsewhere, accesses which positions Chris Ballard will need to address this offseason when he examines where the roster needs more talent, and shares if he’s received an update on Jim Irsay since the Colts statement over a week ago.

(1:12:14-1:30:15) – Big Ten Network’s Dave Revsine makes an appearance on Query & Company to preview Indiana vs Purdue from Bloomington tomorrow afternoon. Additionally, Dave gives credit to the evolution of Wisconsin’s offense, takes an early look as to how many teams from the Big Ten can make the NCAA Tournament, and gives a lot of credit to Nebraska’s Fred Hoiberg for improving the program steadily the last three seasons.

(1:30:15-1:34:19) – The one o’clock hour concludes with the Jake sharing another story about a beer he wanted but the keg was blown, but it was replaced with his favorite beer. Jimmy provides a solution to the constant problem that Jake runs into when he goes to bars.

(1:34:19-1:59:46) – NFL reporter Mike Sando from The Athletic makes his Query & Company debut to access the likelihood that Dwight Freeney or Reggie Wayne make it into the Hall of Fame, examines each of the remaining teams in the NFL playoffs in terms of what is going well for them along with concerns he has for them, explains why Colts fans should have optimism about the direction of the franchise, and weighs in on the debate on who had a better playoff debut between C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love.

(1:59:46-2:17:38) – Jake and Jimmy return from break by discussing what their biggest storylines from this weekend were prior to the start of the Lions/Rams game. After they share theirs, they look at what’s coming down the line for the Lions in the playoffs.

(2:17:38-2:24:35) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day, and JMV joining the guys in studio to share some of his favorite basketball memories growing up centering around Larry Bird.
