into some headlines the lead story from Saturday I might be the Wilson Contrera situation, maybe because

I'm a Cardinals fan.

And I know you guys touched on it a bit on your Saturday show, but man, what an odd turn

of events.

So I guess for people unfamiliar, last Saturday manager Oliver Marmal came out and said that Contreras would no longer be catching and would be moving to the outfield and DH.

Mind you, this was or is less than a quarter of the way into the first year of a five year, 87.5 million dollar deal to be the replacement at catcher for Yadir Malina.

And Contreras didn't find out about this decision until he saw Trace Barrera in the Cardinals

clubhouse that he had been called up to now back up Andrew Kisner behind the plate.

The next day, Cardinals, president of Baseball Operations, John Moseilak,

does an exclusive interview with Ken Rosenthal and Katie Wu of the Athletic to kind of get

the message out there that Moselec says conturis would not play the outfield, he would

DH, and that they wanted him to return to catching eventually. It all just, it points to a bad disconnect and communication.

A franchise used to succeeding that is not having success and seems to just be panicking.
