Summary

Dan Bardell is joined by George Elek, bet365's Steve Freeth and The Athletic's Rich Amofa as the Premier League returns following the closure of the transfer window.

As well as looking ahead to an Antonio-Conte-less-Tottenham hosting Man City, the panel cast their eyes over an equally tasty Friday night fixture between the two West London clubs of big spending Chelsea and Fulham.

Arsenal are the Saturday lunchtime entertainment but they face an intriguing proposition in Sean Dyche's Everton at Goodison Park. Whilst the Kevin Nolan derby will be captivating on Tyneside between Newcastle and West Ham.

I don't even know where to begin with Chelsea.

I think it's the perfect appointment for the squad they've got at their disposal.

0:20.2

I think it's a great job for Sean Daesh to get. I think the bigger surprise was not having a direct replacement to come in for him. I think we all expected that. Their spend, this window makes Roman look like quite a miserly figure in the boardroom.

Before we get into the action, the January transfer window slammed shut this week.

I'm going to ask you each who you think were the winners and who you think were the losers

from January.

1:10.0

Rich, I'm going to come to you first.

1:11.7

Your winner and your loser, please. My winner, I'm going to go with Arsenal, getting in the

likes of Troussard on George, you know, two proven Premier League players, players who've excelled

1:24.2

at this level. You know, Trotsard gives them flexibility and versatility, which you can play out wide. You can play wingback as well. I can also play through the middle. And, you know, we all know Georgina's quality on the ball, especially when Arsenal trying to see out games as well. And the losers, it's not looking good up at Merseyside, is it? Liverpool didn't really strengthen, but I mean, of course, Everton.

2:18.3

You have to look at them because, you know, okay, they got a new manager in, but no new signings. Looking very, very, very bleak up there. And, you know, we really missed a big opportunity to freshen things up. So, yeah, things are not looking great for them at all. So my winners are Arsenal and my losers are Everton. Hard to disagree with either of those answers, to be honest. Did see on the Athletic this morning that Andre Ayu may well end up in Merseyside at Everton. Steve, do you disagree with Rich? No, like him, I had those two written down, but I just think, I'll mention Brighton for keeping Casado and having all their staff picked whether it be on the pitch or off the pitch they're bought in what three teenagers

they're bound to be worth a hundred billion pounds in about two years time so it's just them

just have been a really well-run club and I'm just interested to see how those new signings just

progress whether they go out and loan or or hit the Premier League it's just a very good football club, isn't it? Yeah, so I've to say, we'll be talking about those players this time next year. I suspect, George, finally, I'll come to you. Are you deviating from the other two? No, my winners of the summer window, Everton, I think, have to be the losers of this window. But I still do think that under a now very capable manager will probably look back on Everton's summer business has been better than the next time. Let it go, George. No chance. You've got to let that go. It's a mid-table squad. I'm telling you'll see what dice she does with it. We'll talk about it later. in terms of winners. I mean, I do think there's a fair chance that at least won

and maybe both of these teams will be playing in the championship next season. Adelaida. In terms of winners, I mean, I do think there's a fair chance that at least
