0:54.2	I still want to talk about what's going on in Brazil. The federal police indicted the former president, Bolsonaro, and 36 other people for trying to have a
1:00.0	coup to keep him in office after he lost in the 2022 elections. And this is the first time the authorities
1:06.4	have directly linked Bolsonaro to the attempts to keep his successor from assuming power.
1:12.5	They've gone after high-ranking military members who served in the government for plotting a
1:16.5	coup and committing crimes against democracy. Imagine living in a country as evolved as Brazil
1:22.0	that could do this. He denied all the claims, but remember, in 2022, he lost to the leftist president, Luis Sanacio Lula da Silva.
1:31.0	And he's been charged Bolsonaro with smuggling diamond jewelry into Brazil, with falsifying COVID-19 vaccination statuses.
1:40.3	He abused his authority to cast doubt on the country's voting system, and he's been banned from running again until 2030.
1:47.1	Yes, they banned him from running for president until 2030.
1:50.6	They can do that in Brazil.
1:52.6	So today, the police delivered their findings to the Supreme Court, and they will decide whether to refer them to the prosecutor or not.
1:58.2	But this has weakened Bolsonaro status as a leader of the right-wing
2:01.3	movement. He can't run for office now. He's barred from running in 2026, and he might not be
2:06.1	able to run in 2026 anyway if he's behind bars. Can you imagine living in a country where a corrupt
2:12.7	leader tried to have a coup and overthrow the government, and the government does something about it.
2:19.8	Brazil. Wow. I hope to live in a country like that someday. We're at 866-997-47-48. Our number is 866-997.
