Make me to know your ways, O Lord. Teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach

There comes a time when many of us think that we've learned enough. No, we don't say

that out loud. But you know that you've got to that place when you stop asking God to

teach you his ways. When you stop seeking knowledge. You've read the scriptures, maybe

multiple times. You've read the best books. You've gone through the catechism. You've

taught the church and somewhere in your heart. You have settled into your current state.

You've grown comfortable, complacent, maybe even bored. But look at David. You know,

David, the one who actually pens scripture, he says, teach me. Make me to know your ways

O Lord. The humble are hungry. They seek food from God and he alone provides it. If we

aren't seeking spiritual food and nourishment, then well, we aren't hungry. And therefore

aren't humble. Sure, we're familiar with the 10 commandments. We know the imperatives

of scripture, but their application and their outworking in our lives is constantly developing

because we are constantly living in different circumstances and situations. We're faced
