Welcome to weekday wisdom, the scriptural meditations of doctrine and devotion.

And today we're meditating on Psalm 37, verses 23 and 24.

The steps of a man are established by the Lord when he delights in his way.

So he fall, he shall not be cast headlong for the Lord upholds his hand.

As we've been meditating on Psalm 37, we've been able to see with increasing detail the

differences, the distinction between the wicked and the righteous, between the unbelieving

and the believing, and not just in terms of our final destination.

We also see the difference in how God interacts with us.

Today, how he supports us, helps us as his children.

And we see here that God establishes our steps, the steps of a man are established by the

Lord when he delights in his way.

Those who delight in God's ways are the people of God who actively trust him, who rely on

his revelation, who believe the word, read the word, and heed the word.

This is why in Psalm 119, verse 103, the Psalmist says, Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light to my path.

The word of God and the ministry of God's word ensures our safety in the midst of our

so-journing, our journey through this world, through a dark place.

As we are led by God and His word, we see God's word is revelation.

And it actively reveals.

So it is truth on the one hand, but it also shows us truth.

The word of God exposes danger and evil, not just in the world, but also in us.

And it helps us to see God's glory and His goodness.
