Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Road to World Football Show. I am Patrick Dardy, joined by

Kyle Dvorchick. It is our week eight waiver wire show, or is it week seven. We're recapping week seven. We're looking ahead

0:25.5

to week eight. Six teams on by this week, Kyle, the buys have finally begun in earnest.

0:31.2

We finally brought the boys back from overseas, from London, but now they all need a rest.

There's a lot of big fantasy names on by this week. That means a lot of you are going to be heading to waivers. Got bad news. It's not that good. Unless you really, really need a tight end, then it's pretty good. Because we have an elite tight end for you. Is the person I'm referring to Kyle the ad of the week, or is it someone other than a Ronde Gadsden's's second? I thought you might yell at me for pitching Ronte Gadsden was the ad of the week because I am very excited about what Arronday Gadsden brings to the table. He was for most of his college career, truly just a wide receiver with tight end eligibility. But if you just grant him the fact that he was a wide receiver, he was a really good slot receiver in college. And when he came into the NFL as a day three pick, I thought that's a fun developmental pick. And the development took like three weeks. And then he got on the field. And then ever since he got on the field, he's been percolating beneath the surface. Two weeks ago, he gives a usable fantasy score. This week, he has the most yards for a rookie tight end.

1:28.7

I think in the modern history of the NFL,

1:31.3

there's some guys in like the 60s that did it.

1:32.8

In the past 40 years, it was the most by rookie tight in at least 40 years.

1:36.9

Someone literally 40 years ago almost to the day got past 164.

1:41.6

And speaking of 40 also, it's 40 more yards than any other tight end is posted in a game

1:47.0

this season, any tight end, not just rookie.

1:49.5

So you're telling me, rookie tight end who ran north of 70% of the routes last week and

1:55.6

again, the week before that, is now exploding with big fantasy points.

1:59.5

And I can't make him the out of the week. This is not you. This is the Royal You I'm yelling at. I think I can't. I think I just can make him the ad of the week. The only other player I considered was Kyle Menungai, who forced a true committee with D'Andre Swift last week. Both were extremely efficient averaging over six yards per carry, both found the end zone on the ground. And I think Caleb has played not horrifically, but to the point where a balanced approach is going to help him as well. And I think, I mean, that's what we saw in Detroit as well under Ben Johnson. And we saw a balanced approach within the backfield as well, the thunder and lightning with the under, or with DeAndre Swift with with, with David Montgomery and Jemir Gibbs. I think there's a chance we see both the balanced approach in terms of overall run-pass split and the sub-balanced approach of run-run split between the running backs going forward in the Chicago backfield. So I think there's a small case because of how thin the waiver wire is at running back on wide receiver that Kyle Munangai is the

2:50.8

out of the week. But I'm glad you gave me permission to go with Gadsden because that's who I wanted it to be. You could prioritize Mnongai just because tight ends are easier to find. They're always kind of rising and falling in that Titan 12 to 18 range. But Ronda Gadsden, they don't have a running game right now. Jim Harbaugh had been steaming him before 7 for 68 last week. Then he does 7 for 164. It just seems like that pass-first approach is going to be there for a while. And he was a guy. He really does check all the boxes. This didn't come completely out of nowhere. He was hyped over the offseason, kind of by ball knowers, also by

3:24.4

spreadsheet lovers. So it's not totally out of nowhere, Ferrandi gassed in the second. Menungai,

3:29.3

I will say Gibbs, DeMont, Logic, finally kind of taking hold for the Bears. Also, a compelling

3:35.6

data point in Munn Guy's favor is that this is happening coming out of the biweek, this greater

3:40.5

Bears run game

3:41.6

commitment it just makes all the sense in the world with Caleb william still being pretty

3:45.3

scattershot with his accuracy so six teams on by gadsden you basically you add someone after that

3:51.2

kind of game spoiler alert but like you have to believe what you saw with your own eyes
