Hey, was there any news this week about amateurism and lightness rights in California?

Yeah, there was.

I'm currently on assignment. I am in Parts Unknown right now recording this as best I can in a

very bootleg type of fashion. We are going to have a traditional tasting venue episode.

We'll talk a little bit about some of the stuff

that's gone on in the news this week, like Rutgers, like the craziness of the Tennessee situation

with that arrest. But for those of you who are asking, there's a lot of you we plan to kind of get

together in a more formal structured way probably next week and God I hate this

word but it just I don't know I guess I have to use it unpack the situation

going on in California and unpack the potential for what could happen in college sports.

and it's creating a lot of like very cheap knee-jerk

think PC type reactions, but y'all this stuff

doesn't even start until 2023 that's a world of time for some sort of

adjustment to be brokered and like honestly I didn't say I was going to get into it but I'll give you this take I think if anything it's too small

of an advancement

proportional to the amount of attention it's receiving and the NCAA could actually be very smart,

jump on this and give this up in lieu of strengthening some other conditions.

And I think we're still a lifetime away from athletes in major revenue sports being paid what they are worth.
