Summary

It’s no surprise that the Minnesota Vikings have loved to run the ball in 2019. Like, LOVED it. Like, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs have been suffering because of it, and so has every fantasy gamer who drafted one (or both) of the talented Vikings wide receivers. Thielen has voiced his frustration, but, in a surprise to the entire fantasy community, it was Diggs who missed practice for a non-football reason this week. The trade rumor mill was unleashed. Liz and Matt discuss the Diggs situation and much more on the latest fantasy football podcast (0:20).[Play in Yahoo’s NFL $350K Baller. $10 entry fee and $35K to first place]Diggs returned to practice on Thursday, but when asked about the trade rumors, he said, “There’s truth to all rumors.” #SpicySpeaking of star wideouts, it seems like A.J. Green will be out longer than expected with injury. The rumors of a Green trade have surfaced as well (8:40).More on the injury front: The Bears are set to play without the services of their starting quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, but could Chicago actually be better without him? Liz and Matt analyze the Bears (13:00), while also discussing the impending return of young Jets tight end, Chris Herndon (19:00).Liz and Matt are then joined by Brad Evans to talk about the running back situation as it stands in fantasy right now, including Brad’s favorite, David Montgomery, as well as the Eagles and the resurgence of one Ronald Jones II (24:00).After discussing all that, our experts provide some tantalizing daily fantasy bargains (38:00) as well as preview a pair of sneaky-interesting Week 5 matchups in Texans/Falcons and 49ers/Browns (49:20)Oh, and don’t forget to join the Week 5 NFL $350K Baller daily fantasy contest. Hello and welcome to the Yahoo Fantasy Football podcast. I'm Liz Loza. I'm joined by Matt Harmon. We've got producer Brett manning the ship. And Matt, there's like a lot of weird midweek news.

0:15.6

I know. This is an interesting week of news, too. Like a lot of troubling news, some might say.

0:22.4

Depending on your perspective, it's been Stefan Diggs trade rumors.

0:25.8

It's a little gossipy, right?

0:26.8

It is a little gossipy.

0:28.0

Yeah, he said this on social.

0:30.7

Teams react this way.

0:32.1

Well, actually, the Vikings aren't reacting any old way.

0:34.4

Do you find it ironic that one wide receiver on the Vikings literally, like,

0:40.4

calls out the play calling and, like, outwardly expresses, hey, we might be, might be, might be

0:48.3

frustrated, but like, we're, like, basically saying, we're all frustrated. And then one, like,

0:52.7

tweets an emoji and the other is like, and that's, oh, that's the, that's the sign.

0:57.5

Stepan wants to trade.

0:58.8

And to be fair, I mean, he's definitely frustrated, but both of these guys are frustrated.

1:03.0

Yeah.

1:03.3

So, well, let's talk about digs because he's the one that all of the rumors are swirling around.

1:07.4

Though I'm happy. I had in my notes to mention Adam Thielen because after the

1:10.9

game on Sunday, he was like, yeah, I mean, it's great that we have the best running back in the league,

1:16.9

but if you can't run the ball, like four hundred yards. If you can't convert when it's time to pass,

1:21.6

which is something we alluded to the Sunday prior in one of our episodes about the fact that

1:26.3

Kirk Cousins is not clutch.

1:27.6

And if you are going to have a run first offense, that'll invite closer games.
