Well, hello. Welcome to the Yahoo Fantasy Football Forecast. This is a very special Monday Pickups Edition. It is an all ages, all audiences edition. Welcome to it. Andy Barron's here to guide you. I am joined by multi-sport fantasy legend, Scott Pianowski, and together we will lead you through the absolute fantasy minefield that is the week five waiver wire.

But first, Scott, how you doing? How's everything? The baseball season is finally done. I feel like that is a great weight that has lifted off my fantasy shoulders.

Yeah, it is done. A shout out to our colleague, Dalton Del Don, who won the Friends and Family Baseball League in a romp.

I'm still a little bit scarred. The home baseball league I wanted to win with my friend Scott. We were in first place off and on most of the season. It's a season where a collection,

every week you get a score, and then the person was the most total cumulative points, end

the year wins. And we lost by, I think, one and a half points out of 2,600, one and a half.

We had the lead into Sunday. Our opponent had nobody pitching. Our opponent didn't have any

home runs or stolen bases,

but just the wrong stuff happened. We had a win lined up in Houston. They allowed three runs in the

ninth inning. My partner and I watched the Chris Davis home run together. So shared misery.

Nobody, nobody has, not only nobody care about this other than the people in our league,

and even half of that league doesn't care, but nobody in this podcast certainly cares about it.

But fantasy baseball is such a grind.

And it's no surprise to me that fantasy football is the behemoth of fantasy.

It doesn't require you to grind seven days a week.

You know, there's one day you make pickups and one day you kind of work on your lineup.

And then most of the games are contained on one day and a handful of hours.

And so you're allowed to function normally in society.

The people who play fantasy baseball, and I count myself as one of these people, we are very

deranged.

There's something very dearly wrong with us? Yeah, this last month or so, you know, in the in the run-up to a couple of pretty exciting fantasy

finishes in various baseball leagues.
