Summary

If the story of Week 2 were the star QBs injured and out for the foreseeable future, then the story of Week 3 are the fresh faces we'll be seeing in their places. On this edition of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast, Liz Loza & Matt Harmon dive into the offenses we'll be seeing this weekend manned by unproven young passers.First, Mason Rudolph is stepping in for Big Ben with the Steelers. How will the 2018 third-rounder fare versus a San Francisco team that stomped all over Cincinnati last weekend (1:35).With Drew Brees reportedly out for six weeks, will we see our first QB-by-committee in New Orleans, led by Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill (7:15)?Who is Kyle Allen and why is he being discussed in my fantasy podcast? Liz & Matt are surprisingly excited about Cam Newton's backup in Carolina and the loaded cast of skill players at his disposal (12:20).Finally, it's the end of an era in New York. With Eli Manning passing the torch to Daniel Jones this weekend in Tampa Bay, this can't possibly be a downgrade for the Giants, right (16:25)?The injury monster reared its ugly head of late, and it has not stopped terrorizing the league since. David Njoku took a brutal hit on Monday Night Football, fracturing his wrist and leaving the game with a concussion. DeSean Jackson is out with a hip strain, and he’s not the only Eagle dealing with ailments. LeSean McCoy looked set to get his first start in the Kansas City backfield ... and then he hurt his ankle. Luckily, there’s no structural damage, but both he and Damien Williams are questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Ravens.Liz Loza and Matt Harmon are joined by Yahoo's very own Andy Behrens to process all these injuries and who could be the beneficiary of these absences this weekend (24:15).[Play in Yahoo’s NFL $500K Baller. $10 entry fee and $50K to first place]After discussing all that, our experts then preview some key Week 3 matchups (39:45) and close out the show with some daily fantasy bargains and fades (45:50).Oh, and don’t forget to join the Week 3 NFL $500K Baller daily fantasy contest. Just a $10 entry fee! $50,000 to the first place winner! Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.Follow Liz @LizLoza_FFFollow Matt @MattHarmon_BYBFollow Andy @AndyBehrens See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Hello and welcome to the Yahoo Fantasy Football podcast. I am Liz Loza. I'm here with Matt Harmon and producer Brett. And we are heading into week three of the NFL season. Matt, you know people say this every year and every year I kind of roll my eyes. But does this seem like the year that has more injuries than any other year?

0:22.7

I think this year has, it's kind of similar to, I think it was 2017 when Aaron Rogers got hurt.

0:29.7

I think JJ Watt got hurt that year. Early in the year. And it kind of feels like that where there's a lot of big name injuries,

0:42.6

you know, like, especially to quarterbacks. I mean, if you think about it, going into, like,

0:48.5

at the beginning of August, we've essentially lost seven starters to the guys that we, there are question marks around like seven starters that we would assume, you know, luck, Foles, Ben, Breeze,

0:57.0

Cam Newton, Eli Manning got benched.

0:59.7

And then there's one more that I feel like I'm forgetting.

1:01.4

But, you know, there's like six or seven starters.

1:03.1

Are you talking about Ryan Fitzpatrick?

1:06.1

I well, actually, I wasn't talking about Ryan Fitzpatrick.

1:08.2

But yeah, he's also out of a job.

1:08.8

But does anybody really- Samold, you're missing. Oh, Sam Donald's the one I...

1:11.1

That's the one I'm missing.

1:12.3

But I guess I wasn't really caring Fitzpatrick.

1:14.5

Well, ring the bell because it is the chosen Rosen's time in South Florida.

1:21.8

I don't think anyone's ever been happier except for probably Josh Rosen and his whole family.

1:25.7

I mean, are they really happy?

1:27.1

I didn't think facetious.

1:28.8

Yeah.

1:29.2

Thanks for proving the age of irony is D-O-A.

1:32.9

I almost spelled dead, but I decided dead on the rivals.

1:35.3

Dead on arrival is better.
