Hello welcome to another episode of the Purple Podcast Matthew Coller here here so last week we did an audio recap of all the things being said by the Minnesota Vikings at O TAs and since I got some very nice feedback from you folks on Twitter and through email. I figured we would keep

on rolling with it. This week the Vikings had their second open OTA practice of the

off season on Wednesday and the team spent a large portion of

that practice working on their Red Zone situations. Last year they were 12th in

Red Zone touchdown percentage which was a big jump from the previous two seasons and we also had our first

opportunity to talk with Kirk Cousins after practice though his conversation

with the media took place at Friendly Hills Middle School where the team was handing out

books and backpacks and doing a team event there. So anyway, cousins talked about

the team putting an emphasis on those red zone situations.

You know, NFL football I've learned is so much situationally based,

and so we have to practice third downs, red zone third downs, two minutes.

We have to be really good in situational football and

coach Zimmer to his credit does a good job in OTA's of emphasizing each of those

pivotal moments in games and so today there was a heavy emphasis of not only red zone
