Welcome back, everybody, to the Football Guys Daily Update. You give us 10 minutes and we give you everything you need to know to make you the most informed fantasy football player in your league.

0:08.7

I'm Mike Dempsey-Lon with Football Guys own Bob Harris. Well, week 17 is in the books and we don't know what you're playing for in week 18, but a lot of people are still playing.

0:17.1

So we are here to navigate through the week and Bob let's jump into it with some

0:22.5

quarterback news as Lamar Jackson this is a game of great importance Sunday night football

0:27.7

he's uncertain to play this week due to a back issue now you go back the last five games

0:33.4

Lamar's only thrown four touchdowns he's also thrown four picks that span, and he has gone over 200 yards only twice in his last seven.

0:43.4

Bob, if you wanted to play Zay Flowers or any other pass catcher, would you be better off if Tyler Huntley got the start this week?

0:50.7

I don't know if I'll go that part.

0:51.8

In the last seven full games, the ones you mentioned, nine through 15, Lamar was quarterback 11 in total points, but quarterback 23 in points per game, which tells you had a couple of spike games and I think the one multi-touchdown game you mentioned. So it hasn't been great. I don't know if I want to be leaning heavily into Ravens receiving assets at all, or any of them at all but flowers, regardless

1:11.2

to the quarterback. And also, I'd want to have realistic expectations for him. Last week with

1:15.3

Huntley, he was wide receiver 21. Through that nine through 15 game stretch with Lamar, he's

1:20.6

wide receiver 26. Play him with that tail end wide receiver two expectation. All right. For the

1:26.0

chargers, they're locked into a playoff spot. Their seating is still up for grabs, and they are willing to let fate take the wheel here as Justin Herbert's going to be held out with his hand injury. Bob, Tray Lance will get the starter. Are you interested at least see what he looks like with a full week to prepare? Yeah, I mean, I wish it was with a better offensive line. And of course, if it was a better offensive line, Justin Herbert and the Chargers in general might be at a different spot. So this isn't a great matchup against the Broncos defense under the best of circumstances. It's also fair to wonder about the rest of the supporting cast. In addition to Herbert, Jim Harbaugh made it clear that, you know, anybody who's beat up or needing to heal will sit out. So I'll be interested to see the practice report on Wednesday. There may be, maybe more than the usual contingent of skill players there. Yeah, why would you play Omerion Hampton? If you're not going to play Herbert, right, why would you play the key guys that you're going to need the very next week? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. So now, you know, the other teams are going in the other direction. Some others are like Cincinnati and Joe Burroughs been announced to start for the finale against the Cleveland Browns. Bob, do you think the Bengals will play it straight with all their starters? In other words, play them like they normally do and not maybe pull them out in the third quarter or something like that. I trust almost nothing in week 18. I realize we have to deal with it and the best we can do is go with the information we're given. So when Zach Taylor said that Burroughs starting because he gives them the best chance to win, I do think it matters. I do think they want to win. But we know what playing the win means, right? It's been a roller coaster for Burrow. We've seen the highs and lows. He missed a big chunk of the season with the toe injury, returned earlier than we expected, led the team to a big win on Thanksgiving, then played one of the worst games of his career two weeks later. So he's rebounded. He's had a couple games, 614 yards, six touchdowns of back-to-back wins, gives them a chance to finish the season with a three-game win streak. It's not much, but it's a positive note to build on. I think they want to add to it. All right. Moving on to the Cowboys and the Giants will play this week. Both teams eliminated, obviously. For the Cowboys, Javante Williams could be available, according to Brian Schottinheimer, dealing with a shoulder issue.

3:43.1

Jake Ferguson with the calf issue has not been rolled out. But it's hard to see either one of them suiting up, though. It's week 18. You're not going anywhere. Why aggravate something? It's one thing if you're healthy. If you're anywhere close to the borderline, I can't imagine them putting them out there. Yeah, I'd be surprised, too. Brian Chonheimer left plenty of wiggle room by saying nobody's ruled out and everybody who's healthy will play. So it remains to be seen

3:45.4

if Williams or Ferguson will be healthy enough to hit the field. In Williams case, he maxed out all

3:50.6

his contractual incentives against commanders before he left. So added about 500,000 to his money.

3:56.9

But he'll be a free agent after the season. Might make sense to get a longer look at Malik Davis, who had 100 yards against the commanders. And maybe, heaven forbid, take a look at Jaden Blue or maybe Phil Moffa. So Blue's been a healthy scratch more often than not. Mof has been on IR. Neither made an impact. So I don't know. I'm not expecting to

4:15.5

see either Williams or Ferguson, but we'll let it play out. Yeah, and DAC has been announced as the

4:20.9

starting quarterback, Bob. And again, we don't know if they'll get the full game or not. He has a chance

4:25.4

to lead the league in passing. So we'll talk more about that one as the week goes on. Jackson,

4:30.8

Dart and company.

4:32.2

The New York Giants win over the Raiders and take themselves out of the running for the
