Hello, it's once again the Saturday Daily Fantasy Special Podcast. Happy New Year, everybody, because it is Saturday, as I mentioned, and it is January 1st. We made it 2022. Shout out to you. Shout out to me. Shout out to TJ Hernandez, who of course is with me from 444. How's it going, buddy? Good. Welcome to Week 17. Welcome to 2022. And this new age of going deep or at least halfway through January with our regular season. We still got another week.

0:26.6

I got to tell you, buddy. I was not like, I knew this was coming. Obviously, we've all known forever. But I was not prepared to like stop giving a damn about like not stop giving a damn about fantasy football

0:38.5

once like a couple days after Christmas was here you know yeah it's uh once so yeah no I

0:44.2

think we're definitely like mentally conditioned to finish like like New Year's Days basically

0:49.2

always kind of been the end of our year or around there definitely a little shock to the system

0:53.3

to be still going strong.

0:55.1

Alas, no one cares though. It's also, this is like the fattest slate ever too, because we know

0:59.9

we have no Thursday night football. There's no Saturday games. I guess I'll ask you right off the top.

1:04.9

Does that change anything for you in terms of being like, you know, obviously I assume there's

1:09.7

going to be a few games that are extremely popular and stuff like that, but does it change things for you like going down the

1:14.2

fringes to any of these like less exciting games or are you still just kind of playing the hits here?

1:19.4

Kind of similar look at a slate. We have to go all the way back to week three. The last time we

1:23.5

had 13 games on the slate before a buy week started. The two things that really stand out to me are one, the passing game roster rates are going

1:31.2

to get really diluted, right?

1:32.7

So in that week, in week three, we didn't have any running, I'm sorry, any quarterbacks

1:38.6

on more than 15% of rosters.

1:40.6

And one of the big surprises was Josh Allen only ended up on about 5% of

1:45.2

rosters. And he was kind of like the winning quarterback that week. The reason that happens is

1:49.4

because similar to this week, we have six teams projected for between 27 and 29 and a half

1:56.5

points according to the Vegas lines. So we got all of these teams that are projected kind of high, but nobody that is really separating from the field. And then just because of math,

2:05.8

there's only so much roster rate to go around in these position, right? So we're going to have

2:09.5

a ton of these quarterbacks in this like five to 11 percent range. So you're going to get some

...
