This week we read through the Book of Judges and this is such an important book for this time that we live in.

Because we live in a time where, like in the book of judges at the very end it says,

in those days, there was no king in Israel.

Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

This phrase is repeated throughout the book of judges

that there's no king.

God wanted to make it clear.

These people did not want authority. He wanted to be their king but they

didn't want him as a king. It starts off with them disobeying his commands and a

generation that rises up that doesn't know him, but more importantly they didn't really want him.

They don't want authority.

They want to do what's right in their own eyes.

You guys, this is the sin from the beginning.

This is the sin of Satan.

He doesn't want authority and we live in a time when, and in a country where we don't want authority. And in a country where we don't want authority.

We want to do what we feel like doing.

We don't want anyone telling us what's right and wrong.

We don't want to come under kingship.

We boast about everyone believing what they want to believe and doing what they want to do.

And that's exactly what happens in judges and you see it's like one of the craziest times in history.
