Hello everybody welcome into this short edition of the fantasy pros football podcast. I am Ryan warmly joined as I will be every Friday this season by Dr.

David Chow former team physician for many years sports injury central an analyst right now. Dr. Chow thank you so much for joining me.

Thank you very much. I see you're up in the Ravens here.

I am you know it's week one. I got a show support for my team. I won't be too much of a home or most weeks here. We are going to talk about a Raven.

We'll go ahead and just start off then with JK Dobbins because I want to talk about as we go into the start of the season.

Some players that we're maybe looking at more of the long term outlook rather than just week one.

Dobbins has been petitioning the coaches to play week one. It looks like that's pretty questionable.

Probably not going to happen from the larger macro level perspective.

When do you expect to see him get to that full strength level that we're hoping for?

Not for a little while. You have to understand and look.

None of this is critical of Dobbins none of this is critical of the Ravens or your head coach John Harbaugh.

I know some fans have been negative about oh because they don't like bad news right and Dobbins says ask me I'm the one who knows look.

He had an ACL and LCL multi ligament injury that makes it a bigger deal so you can't go just by timeline well it's been a year he should be fine.

That's why we said that this summer at siscour.com and we're thrilled to be partnered with fancy pros you guys have our player cards and six scores on there and it's awesome we love it.

We have a relatively pessimistic now he's done well that he's actually been practicing but he's not full go and we still see him limping and it is an ACL and LCL at least from our eyes.

And this summer after we wrote the article Ravens.com actually quoted it and linked our article so they gave it some credence that that's what it was at least Ravens.com did.

So here's the thing right now I don't think Dobbins is playing his six score for the season is about 60 or so in other words if you're drafting him now or you did you have to look at fantasy projections for the year and maybe multiplied by point six right to get your expectations that's where we are now he'll get better and better.

And so he's the year goes and one of the things that you know I know you have a betting pro side but one of the things we said on our sick picks our new thing was we said take the under on eight 75 yards for the season for Dobbins and after Lamar Jackson's comments oh he'll be out hopefully he'll be out there in a few weeks.

And then he's taking off the board that that future is no longer available so those you know so that's all we're saying he's going to get better but don't expect him this week and even when he returns to play don't expect JK Dobbins full health right recovery is not a light switch it's not like one day you can't at the next day you're 100% it's a gradual climb.

He is somebody that I was fading in drafts this year specifically because of the injury concern another guy who's coming off an ACL but it's just the ACL is Chris Godwin and you touch a little bit on the question I wanted to ask which is why the timeline is so different between the two of them because Dobbins got hurt in August of last year Godwin got hurt in December of last year and yet they're both technically questionable for week one.

Yeah in the final reports will be out we'll see I actually don't expect either one to play but if they do they're not going to do a lot I mean if they do play you got to look at what your other options are if they're on your fantasy teams but I've actually done had two conversations one on serious XM and one one with Bruce Krakowski and one with Rich Ganon I asked them have you ever played a game with a wide receiver wearing an ACL brace and if you had would you throw him the football.

They both chuckled and said yeah that would be a big question we've never encountered it Chris Godwin did not hit PUP good to see him on the field and doing stuff but he wore a knee brace all training kept yes he just took it off but he took off the knee brace and now is donning a non contact Jersey don't hit me Jersey.
